Twelve kills by Zeke Litchfield and eleven more from senior classmate Braden Walter gave the Heritage Patriots a whole load of confidence heading into the 2025 season compared to a year ago as they took down Columbia City on the road, 25-19, 19-25, 25-23 and 26-24.
Litchfield contributed four blocks and two services aces to lead the way for the Patriots, who also beat the Eagles by the same score in 2024.

The Patriots dominated the Eagles in two areas (not including the height of Litchfield at the net): service return and at the setter position.

Eli Tigulis was outstanding at the setter position, playing flawlessly while accumulating 32 assists and the Patriots handled the CC serve with relative ease. Sophomore libero Chase Buuck showed his growth in the sport with a great four sets on the return game.
The Patriots will host New Haven in their home opener Thursday evening.
