ROB WEAVER
Following two Executive Sessions of the Adams Central School Board in the last week, the board voted in their regular meeting last evening to retain school board superintendent Joel Mahaffey.
Mahaffey had been under fire for being arrested by Markle Police last week for driving while intoxicated after he failed to stop at a stop sign at an exit ramp on I-69.
At the time of his arrest, his blood alcohol content measured more than .11. The vote by the Adams Central School board to allow Mahaffey to keep his job was 5-2, with the president and vice president of the board providing the two votes against Mahaffey.
