A pair of games this week against Wells County opponents did not go the way the Heritage Patriots hoped, with coach Kyle Sovine’s team going 0-2 against Bluffton and Norwell, ending a three-game winning streak and dropping the Patriots’ season record to 10-8 heading into a difficult ACAC road game Friday at Jay County.
The Patriots faced Bluffton for the first time this year and fell 40-32, dropping to 3-2 in the ACAC regular season standings and eliminated any hopes of sharing the conference title. No stats were provided for this contest.
Heritage had a chance to bounce back with a non-conference win Tuesday at home against Norwell, but the Patriots struggled from behind the arc and the Knights went home with a 53-41 victory.

Landon Lybarger led all scorers with 19 points, knocking down four threes and going 5 of 6 from the free throw line.
Taurean Brown was 4 of 5 from the field in the loss for a ten-point night.
The final home game of the season for Heritage will be Tuesday when the Patriots host North Side.
