For the second time this season, the Heritage Patriots went on a long road trip to take on an unfamiliar foe in wild weather and came back to Monroeville Road with a victory in their pockets, beating the Tipton Blue Devils, 21-7, Friday night in Week 6.
Now 5-1 on the season, the visitors bounced back from a disappointing loss to Adams Central in Week 5 and the team holds out hope for a share of the ACAC title if they can beat Bluffton next week. The Tigers would have to bounce back and knock off AC the next week, but the Patriots are playing good football right now and anything is possible.
Heritage got the first score of the game as Braden Walter linked up with Eli Tigulis for one of five catches on the night, taking it in from sixteen yards out.
Walter finished the night with 94 yards on 20 carries and 64 yards receiving.

Walter and Tigulis teamed up again in the third quarter to put the game out of reach, this time for a seven-yard touchdown pass.
Tigulis was 7 of 9 in the wind and the rain for 110 yards. He also gained 17 yards on the ground.
The Patriots made it 21-0 when Lucas Weber punched the ball in from the one-yard line in the fourth quarter. Cam Rauner made all three PATs in the difficult conditions.
Tipton’s only highlight of the game was returning the ensuing kickoff for a score, going 78 yards to round out the scoring.
The Patriot defense held the Blue Devils to just 72 yards of total offense and allowed just six first downs.
