Madison Gerber welcomed back Addison Gilbert and the two paired up to bring Adams Central the award for best six-mile time, but it was the Norwell Knights who took the next three spots in the standings to claim the team title.
Gerber ran the opening mile and then alternated with Gilbert to finish with a team time of 39:12, more than 40 seconds faster than the first Norwell pair.
The top three teams from each school scored, meaning Norwell had wrapped up the title after their third pair crossed the line in 41:18.1.
Bellmont’s top pair consisted of freshman Sydney Angel and junior Abigail Rudy (pictured below). They finished in sixth place and the Braves took fourth as a team.
