After the music of Journey, Tom Petty and Bon Jovi, the past three weeks, the Decatur Chamber’s Thursday night concert series this week will offer the music of the “hair bands” of the 1980s.
Hairbanger’s Ball will perform from 7-9 p.m. as the concert series shifts back to the Madison St. Plaza from the Riverside Center parking lot.
It will mark the third consecutive year the Hairbangers will perform here.
Bellmont High School junior Riley Thieme will open the night’s program, starting around 6:45 p.m.
No admission is charged. Various types of food will be available, as well as adult beverages.
Hairbanger’s Ball was established out of Chicago in 2001 and does 150 or so shows a year.
Male and female vocals are featured by the band composed of four men and two women.
“Whether you’re looking to bring back the memory of a favorite concert seen in 1985 or seeking a true-to-life representation of what a rock concert was like in the 80’s, Hairbanger’s Ball provides both the music and the mayhem for young and old alike,” the band’s website says.
