The Adams County Economic Development Corp. (ACEDC) has taken a step in a new direction with the addition of its first Tourism & Marketing Director.
Taylor Braun joined the staff on June 17, ACEDC Director Colton Bickel announced on Monday.
Braun is currently a senior at Purdue Fort Wayne, majoring in Business Management. The Decatur resident is a graduate of Bellmont High School.
In her new position as Tourism & Marketing Coordinator, she will be working to increase and promote quality tourism in Adams County, as well as creating lasting relationships with local business owners, Bickel explained.
“I’m very excited to have this opportunity in serving my hometown and getting to know our local business owners better.” Braun said. “I can’t wait to showcase our rich history, stunning landscapes, and vibrant community to visitors from near and far.
“I am thrilled about the prospect of bringing tourism to Adams County. Adams County holds untapped potential for visitors seeking a blend of history, nature, and local charm.
“From exploring the historic sites like the Limberlost State Historic Site to immersing oneself in the natural beauty of Pine Lake and the Rivergreenway Trail, Adams County promises a unique experience for every person.” Braun continued.
“I am excited to showcase our community’s warmth and hospitality, inviting tourists to discover the hidden gems and vibrant stories that make Adams County a destination worth exploring.”
Taylor will be promoting the county’s attractions, events, and unique offerings to both local residents and visitors, Bickel said.
“Responsibilities include developing and implementing marketing campaigns that highlight Adams County’s historical sites like the Limberlost State Historic Site in Geneva, its natural beauty, such as exploring Pine Lake, and cultural events like the annual Swiss Days festival in Berne and Downtown Decatur Days,” the executive director pointed out.
The role involves collaborating with local businesses to create new ideas that attract tourists and enhance visitor experiences. Additionally, monitoring tourism trends and visitor feedback being crucial for adjusting strategies to maximize tourism growth and economic impact in Adams County.
“The Adams County EDC is thrilled to announce the addition of Taylor Braun to our team,” Bickel said. “She brings experience and energy that will produce a major shift in Adams County. There is clear evidence that tourism is a big economic mover for many communities, but it’s not something that Adams County has utilized to its full potential.
“It is with great excitement that we bring on Taylor, as she is the perfect person to enhance our tourism efforts,” Bickel continued.
