Rex Brewer, known throughout the Adams County area as the voice of WZBD Sports, may be traveling to venues in a new manner – as long as the weather holds, that is.

The Decatur man is now the proud owner of an E-Z Golf Cart valued at $10,000, his name having been drawn in a contest during Downtown Decatur Day last Saturday.
Tickets were $20 apiece in the raffle held by the Decatur Chamber of Commerce.
Proceeds go to Decatur Main Street, which holds the annual Downtown Decatur Day.
Also Saturday, the city’s second annual golf cart parade was held, with 15 carts entered.

An entry fee of $20 per cart was collected, with proceeds going to the Mayor’s Youth Council.

The Bubba Braun family’s cart was chosen as the winner in the youth voting category, while Nancy Niblick Ranley was voted best in the adult voting category.

They received prizes sponsored by ABCinema, Famous Monster Pizza, and Double Eagle Clubhouse Grille.
The parade began at Riverside Center, then traveled on the Greenway Trail, winding up downtown, with those attending the Downtown Decatur Day given the opportunity to vote for their favorite cart.
