It’s time to dust off your fairy wings and get out the glitter … it’s Flight of Fairies time! The Adams County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that the Decatur Arts Commission was recently awarded a grant from the ACCF for the fourth presentation of the Flight of the Fairies, a magical event for children and their family members to explore the Hidden Enchanted Woods in Hannah Nuttman / REV Park.
While exploring the Hannah Nuttman trails, each participant will search for fairies and their houses, create magical crafts, play games, and meet storytellers that will share in fairy history, hobbies, and their homes. Children will be able to use their creativity in doing nature-themed crafts in the hopes of earning the fairies’ affection.
The Flight of the Fairies will be in the woods near REV Park (Hanna Nuttman), along Washington Street, west of REV ball fields (1420 N. Washington Street) on Saturday, June 22nd, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $8.00 per person with children two and under free. Tickets are available at the Riverside Center, at www.daparks.com, or at the entrance on June 22.
What about rain?
Though the fairies are working to ensure great weather, if necessary, a rain date will be announced. Follow this entertaining and fanciful event on Facebook at Flight of the Fairies. Participants are encouraged to come dressed as mythical creatures.
