The Adams County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Community Care of Northeast Indiana was recently awarded a grant for recovery support of Adams County residents at the Grace & Mercy Transitional House.
The mission of Community Care is to offer practical, emotional, and spiritual support to women, men, and children who are seeking assistance with difficulties in their daily lives. The Grace and Mercy Transitional House serves women and children with safe and secure housing while working toward recovery from individual or family crisis such as homelessness, substance abuse, domestic violence or other issues.Â
Christine Walker, Executive Director of Community Care, expressed appreciation to the ACCF for the support, which has provided crucial support for recovery for Adams County women and children. Tony Isch, ACCF grants committee member, added that he is happy to see this funding used to support an organization that helps provide necessary recuperative care and residence for people that need it.
This ACCF grant was made possible through unrestricted fund sponsored by the Robert Eugene & Sandra Butcher and the Keith and Mari Sanders Community Enrichment Funds.
The Eugene and Sandra Butcher Family Fund represents and remembers Gene and Susie Butcher and their family. Married nearly 55 years, Gene and Susie had five children: Eugene, Verlin, Karen, Nancy, and Melissa. They had a sincere appreciation for the community that helped raise their family and wished to provide an annual tribute to this community.
The Keith and Mari Sanders Family have been involved in the community for many years. They are the parents of four children: Ashleigh, Ian, Brittany, and Aubrie. As respected residents and reliable volunteers, Adams County is fortunate to have their continued support through their personal and professional lives. Keith, with Bunge and Mari, with United Way, gave considerably of their time and talents.
