Cade Van De Weg came out of the bullpen and shut down the Woodlan Warriors, who were threatening to take the lead for the first time Friday night, then cruised for three more scoreless innings of relief to lead the Adams Central Flying Jets to an 11-7 win in ACAC play.

AC entered the bottom of the fourth with a 9-5 lead and starter Ethan Funk on the mound, but a hit batsmen and a home run by Drew Fleek cut the score to 9-7 and Van De Weg was called out of right field and onto the mound. He induced a groundout and got two Ks to get out of the inning and give the Jets confidence that they could win it on the road.

At the plate, Ryan Tester and Keegan Combs had big nights for the Jets. Tester doubled twice and knocked in three, scoring twice. Combs knocked in four runs with a single and a double.

Jack Hamilton came to the plate four times and scored all four times for the Jets.

The Jets face a tough task with their big rivals, South Adams, scheduling a make-up game for Saturday. That game can be heard on WZBD.
