The rain prevented Heritage from taking their shot at the Bluffton Tigers Tuesday, but Wednesday’s weather was in the Patriots’ favor and they made the most of it, defeating Bluffton 10-0 in five innings.
Danica Fuller was outstanding in the circle, taking a no-hitter into the fifth inning before Madison Smith singled to left with one out to break it up. The Heritage ace finished off the next two batters quickly, picking up strikeouts number 11 and 12 to wrap it up.

At bat, Fuller did not make an out, slapping two singles and picking up two walks. She scored two runs and knocked in a couple, as well.

The Patriots’ biggest rally came in the third, jump started by a Grace Guenthner home run on an 0-2 pitch to lead off the inning. The Heritage catcher knocked in two more runs with a single, as well.
Heritage will need wins against Jay County Monday to set up a chance to force a situation where they can beat South Adams on Thursday to share the conference title with the formidable Starfires. That game will be broadcast on WZBD.
