A new opponent took the field against the Adams Central Flying Jets Wednesday night in Monroe and the home team gave them a rude awakening to ACAC baseball, scoring ten in the opening inning against the Fort Wayne Crusaders and winning in 4.5 innings, 19-5.
Jack Hamilton was a perfect 3 for 3 with a walk, knocking in five runs and scoring three times, including a home run.
Ryan Tester drew the start and threw three innings, allowing one earned run. Jamison Roach came on in relief and got four outs before yielding to Trevor Currie for the final two outs.
Currie was 3 for 4 at the plate with four RBI.
It was a good warmup for the team as they prepare to take on their rivals, South Adams, in Berne on Thursday. Fans can hear that game on WZBD, 92.7 FM.
