It will be a battle of East Allen rivals in the opening round of the 3A Angola sectional on May 23rd when the Heritage Patriots face the Leo Lions.
The Patriots, who are 9-2 this year, ranked in the state and the defending regional champions, were drawn against the Lions by the IHSAA.
Angola AD Stephen Lantz announced the times and dates Monday to WZBD.
The opener between the Patriots and Lions will begin at 7:30 p.m. after Woodlan and Concordia Lutheran play.
A win by coach Dean Lehrman’s team would move the Patriots to the semifinals against the victor of that Woodlan/Concordia matchup. That game would be played on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The sectional championship game at Angola will be played on Memorial Day at 11 a.m.
