After suffering defeat on Monday and Tuesday, the Adams Central tennis team gave Bluffton their best shot and emerged victorious, 3-2.
Playing in extremely windy conditions, the setup was not ideal for a team that had played an awful lot of tennis since Saturday’s Warsaw Invite. Nevertheless, the team got the usual steady play at No. 1 singles from Hillary Tobias and also won at No. 2 with Melanie Bertsch in straight sets.
The Jets clinched the match with yet another victory at No. 2 Dubs as Anna Leyse and Alexa Brotherton have now won six straight matches over five days after dropping just one game across two sets Wednesday.
Coach Disinger’s team will have two days of practice before playing in the Adams/Allen Challenge on Saturday.
The Jets will host Bellmont Monday in another important intra-sectional match.
