Norwell beat Bellmont by a wide margin, but freshman Jazlyn Brown won first place in three different events as she continues the impressive start to her career.
The Braves are set to compete Saturday at the Turtletown Invite in Churubusco.
-Bellmont’s Khia Cannon was third in the 100 with a new PR of 13.50. She also ran her best 200 of the year and finished third there, too.
-Hannah Hawkins came out of nowhere and ran a 14.15 for Bellmont to finish in fourth place. Hawkins was also fourth in the 200 with a season best.
-Quinn Buchan cut three seconds from her time last week at Huntington North to finish third in the 400 for the Braves.
-Madison Witte and Bre Feasel ran the 800 for the first time this year and each set PRs.
-Witte also ran the mile for the first time in 2024 and turned in the best time of any Braves this season, finishing second to Ashley Waldman of Norwell.
-Teammate Keeley Carpenter was just a fraction of a second behind Witte with her own PR.
-Bre Feasel also had a PR in the mile, finishing fifth in 6:31.44.
-Emily Barton ran her best time in the 100 hurdles this year and finished fourth.
-Jazlyn Brown dominated the 300 hurdles by cutting more than two seconds from her PR to win the event in 51.75.
-The Braves’ 4×400 team ran their best time of the season.
-Brown won the high jump with an outstanding effort of 4′ 10″, higher than any Adams County athlete has gone in the last two years.
-While Brown did not set a PR in the long jump, it was still good enough to win by an inch.
-Hailey Cole won both throwing events by comfortable margins.
-Senior Dodger Krol threw her best discus and took fifth for Bellmont.
