Adams Central standout Isaac Schultz officially signed his papers to commit to Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois Tuesday.

The 1000-point scorer was joined by family and teammates to celebrate the occasion. Schultz was the undisputed leader of the team over the last couple of years, leading the Jets to back-to-back ACAC tourney titles the last two seasons and elevating the program to some of the highest levels in recent memory.
Schultz joins a trend of Adams County athletes headed west on US 24 to Kankakee County, Illinois, joining Bellmont’s Eli Laurent (baseball) and upcoming graduate Arabelle Laurent (soccer).

The Tiger program has a good mix of local Illinois players and plenty of Indiana flavor. Six players on last year’s roster hailed from the Hoosier state.
The head coach at Olivet is Nick Birkey and his seventh year at the helm of the program will feature Schultz. Birkey has been extremely successful at the school since taking over, winning an average of 24 games per season in his time there.

Olivet is an NAIA school and plays many of the schools in the local NAIA conference here back home like Huntington, Indiana Tech and Indiana Wesleyan.
