The Bellmont Braves got some standout performances from freshmen and sophomores in Saturday’s Celina Invite as the newcomers to coach Risch’s team continue to make headlines.
-Bre Feasel was only 13 seconds off her pace from last year’s sectional (her season best last season) in the 3200 M.
-Freshman Jazlyn Brown recorded the best high jump mark in the last two years for the Braves, finishing in third with a height of 4′ 8″. The team already has three freshmen who have gone at least 4′ 4″ with Maya Schlemmer and Ava Billman also reaching that mark or better in 2024.
-Taylor Louis was two inches short of her career mark in the long jump and finished in fifth place.
-Jazlyn Brown was eighth in the long jump with an impressive distance of 13-07 in her first varsity attempt.
-Another promising freshman, Kinleigh Coffey, threw 87 feet in the discus, setting the best career mark of any member of the team currently.
-Hailey Cole went 80 feet in the discus, but did not throw the shot.
