The Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Brooks Construction Co. Inc. announces resurfacing and pedestrian/bike facilities on U.S. 27 near Portland.
Beginning Monday, April 1, crews will complete a resurface project on U.S. 27 between C.R. 100 N. and C.R. 200 S. Additionally, crews will reconstruct ADA curb ramps and traffic signals for bikes and pedestrians.
U.S. 27 will remain open to the motoring public during construction. The motoring public should expect temporary lane restrictions and/or flagging operations. Crews will add new signal lighting, some intersections will have temporary stop signs in place of lights.
INDOT reminds drivers to consider worker safety by slowing down, using caution and avoiding distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
