106 lbs. – Julianna O’Campo – New Haven
Julianna has been defeated by #6 Royce Malone of Monrovia by fall and she will fall into the consolation bracket.
O’Campo came back and defeated Teigan Newell from Crown Point in the consolation round to advance, winning 12-3.
Julianna had to settle for sixth place after losing to Mason Goelz of Avon, 3-0.
126 lbs. -Braydin Daniels – Union City
Daniels faced #3 Luke Rioux of Avon and was defeated by a score of 13-0.
126 lbs. – Cody Rowles – Jay County
Cody Rowles had one of the best matches of the early morning and was in position to win when he chose down in a tie match to start the third period. Gunner Butt rode out Rowles for the entire third period and sent the bout to overtime. Butt won the match in overtime with a takedown on a scramble, sending Rowles down to the consolation round.
Daniels and Rowles will wrestle each other for seventh place after they both lost in the second match Saturday.
Bradin Daniels wins the seventh-place match 5-0 over Rowles.
132 lbs. – Jackson Bradley – Cowan
Jackson Bradley scored the opening takedown and led 3-0 late in the bout before yielding a stalling point at the buzzer, but he advances to the state semifinals with a 3-1 win over #13 Keith Parker of Ben Davis.
Bradley, now 35-0, will face Hayden DeMarco of Chesterton, who is also undefeated for a chance to wrestle in the finals.
Jackson Bradley was defeated by DeMarco by fall in the semifinals and he will wrestle for third place against defending state champion Tylin Thrine of New Castle.
Tylin Thrine claimed third place with a 7-0 victory over Bradley.
138 lbs. – Tony Wood – Jay County
Tony Wood waited five minutes and fifty seconds to score his first points of the match against Justice Thornton, but he scored the takedown he needed to win 2-1 and remain undefeated. Wood advances to the semifinals to face former state champion Kyrel Leavell of Warren Central.
Kyrel Leavell controlled the match between himself and Tony Wood, winning 9-3. Tony will have one more match for third place against Brady Ison of Brownsburg.
Tony Wood finishes his career in fourth place at 138 after a 3-1 loss to Brady Ison.
144 lbs. – Easton Doster – New Haven
Doster led early and Dillon Graham of Cathedral came back to tie it up, but Doster scored an escape to survive and advance to the semifinals with a 7-6 win.
Easton scored the opening takedown against #1 Reese Courtney of Center Grove and never gave up the lead, winning 3-1 in one of the bigger upsets of Saturday. Doster will be the first Bulldog to wrestle under the lights since 2003.
Doster won one of the best matches of the night and became the first Bulldog to win a state title.
150 lbs. – Aidan Elkins – New Haven
Elkins was knocked into the consolation bracket when he lost by fall to Hunter May of Floyd Central. He will wrestle Wesley Harper of Penn next.
Elkins unfortunately lost his cool after losing to Wesley Harper of Penn and was disqualified from the tournament.
165 lbs. – Duke Myers – Bellmont
Duke had five takedowns and dominated Jesse Derringer of Brownsburg, winning 13-8 to advance to the semifinals. He will now wrestle in the semifinal match against #1 Anthony Rinehart of Crown Point.
In one of the biggest upsets of the day, Duke scored a late takedown to beat #1 Anthony Rinehart 2-1.
Myers will now wrestle under the lights for a state title at 165.
A big second period by Waylon Cressell of Warren Central created too big of a deficit for Duke Myers, who did come back to score a takedown in the third period, but fell 12-4. Duke finishes the season as the runner-up at 165 pounds.
215 lbs. – Keagan Martin – Bellmont
Keagan was defeated by the defending champion Will Clark by a score of 9-2. He will now face Landon Terry of Tell City in the consolation semifinal.
Martin defeated Terry and will have a chance to win fifth place if he wins tonight.
Winning is exactly what Keagan did, claiming fifth place with a takedown in overtime to win, 3-1, avenging his loss in the semi-state finals against Travis Henke of Northridge.
285 lbs. – Juan Cruz – Bluffton
Juan Cruz yielded a takedown at the buzzer to lose to Hosia Smith of Cathedral by a final score of 6-5. Cruz will face Perris Green of Warren Central next.
Juan Cruz won his second match and will wrestle for fifth.
Cruz was defeated in his final match by Brady Beck of Rochester 3-0 and Juan takes sixth place.
