Danny Lee Hidy, 89, of Bluffton, IN, passed away at 2:30 PM on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at the Waters of Hartford City in Hartford City, IN. He was born on Monday, May 21, 1934, in Jay County, IN. He married Ruby Irene Twigg on Sunday, June 19, 1955 in Jay County, IN. Danny was a 1952 graduate of Pennville High School. He lived most of his life in Pennville, IN. before moving to Bluffton in 2018. He worked for Portland Forge for 33 years. He was a lifetime member of the I.O.O.F in Pennville, IN, and was a member of the I.A.M. Union. He was an elder at the Liquid church for 17 years. Danny enjoyed woodcarving and gardening.
He will be sadly missed by his Wife – Ruby Irene (Twigg) Hidy, Bluffton, IN, Daughter – Donna Sue Betz, Bluffton, IN, Son – Bruce Edward (Linda) Hidy, Hartford City, IN, Grandchildren – Christy Day, Kokomo, IN, Traci Clark, Portland, IN, Brandi Smith, Gaston, IN, Tyler Hidy, Millgrove, IN, Kyle Hidy, Cambridge City, IN, Aaron Hidy, Cambridge City, IN, Ashlee Ricketts, Matthews, IN, Rachael Miller, Ossian, IN, Julie Coffey, Marion, IN, and 19 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Father – Cleo Rosevelt Hidy, Mother – Mary Evelyn (Houck) Hidy, Son – Steven Michael Hidy, and Brothers – Tommy Rowe Hidy, and Richard Dale Hidy.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home located at 109 W. Windsor St. Montpelier on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to services on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
A service to celebrate Danny’s life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 10, 2024 Pastor Tom Foster and Pastor Lyle Breeding officiating. Interment will follow in the Pennville I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Pennville.
