The Indiana Department of Education released enrollment numbers for public schools this week based on numbers submitted by each school district earlier in the first semester.
In overall enrollment across each district, South Adams and Adams Central each had an increase in K-12 numbers from last year. South Adams showed 1308 students across all grades compared to 1283 from the year before.
Adams Central schools showed an increase of 20 students overall from 1340 to 1360 this year.
At Bellmont, North Adams has 30 less students in the hallways this year compared to last school year.
With most of the focus on enrollment numbers revolving around IHSAA classifications for team sports, many will be interested to see what the numbers are for ninth through 12th grade. Follow WZBD for more information on how the new numbers may affect sports teams in Adams County in coming years.
