The Wells County Chamber of Commerce announced this week that Jeff and Jamie Lemler, owners and operators of the Thoma Rich and Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton have been named as Wells County’s citizens of the year.
Jeff and Jamie are lifelong residents of Wells County. Jeff graduated from Norwell High School, attended Purdue University, and returned home in 1999 to learn the trade under a former funeral home director, Howard Rich. Jeff’s wife Jamie is a Bluffton High School graduate.
The couple married in 2004, and have two children — Braden, 15, and Macy, 13, who attend Bluffton schools. Jamie joined the funeral home full-time when they became the sole owners in 2014.
The Lemler’s have been involved in numerous community endeavors in the Bluffton area and will be recognized along with other Wells County Chamber award winners at a banquet early next year.
