After beating three teams in Honolulu last week, all of them ranked in the top 11 in the country, the Purdue Boilermakers moved into a nearly unanimous #1 position in the AP rankings Monday, taking 60 of 63 first-place votes.

They celebrated those 60 votes with a 32-point win over Texas Southern in the 60th straight sellout of Mackey Arena Tuesday night, winning 99-67.
Braden Smith led the Boilers in scoring with 19 points, missing a triple-double by one rebound after dishing out ten assists.
Reigning National Player of the Year Zach Edey had 15 points and six boards.
The Boilermakers will begin their Big Ten season with a late-night game in Evanston against the 5-1 Northwestern Wildcats. That game can be heard live on 92.7 FM, WZBD.
