The Bellmont Braves wowed the home crowd for the first time this season in the opener, beating Woodlan 54-35.
Dylan Velez led the team in scoring with seven in the first half and all scorers with 15 for the game to lead the Braves.

Andrew James finishes a left-handed layup. 30 seconds later, James came down and dunked on a breakaway. He finished with six points. Kord Fuelling, shown celebrating Andrew James’ dunk in the second quarter, brought emotion and physicality to the court Saturday, adding 12 points. Kord Fuelling gets the putback on a missed three for Bellmont.
The Braves used crisp passing to beat the Woodlan defense. Jack Scheumann had seven points for Bellmont. The Z Team was on hand for Saturday’s game between Bellmont and Woodlan. The next Bellmont game on WZBD will be December 9th when the Braves host the Heritage Patriots.
