Garrett pulled away with a strong second half, beating the Heritage Patriots in transition points and holding on for a 48-35 victory against former conference foes.
The Patriots were within a couple of possessions at halftime but Garrett forced turnovers from the Patriot guards and built a lead on fast breaks and layups.
Jaxon Robinson led the home team with 16 points, while Parker Reed added eleven and Drayton Myers ten.
Braden Walter led the Patriots with 14 points and D’Vontaye Washington had seven.
Garrett won the rebounding battle 30-27 and the Railroaders were aided in their efforts by a strong night at the free throw line, where they shot 92%.
Heritage shot just 27% from the field.
