It turned out to be a case of the “twins towers” overpowering Adams Central Wednesday night, as they were defeated by Blackford at The Hangar 65-39.
It was close early on as the teams traded baskets, with the Lady Jets holding leads at 5-4 and 8-7. From there, the twin seniors from Blackford, Savanna and Sydnee Morris, took over the rest of the quarter as Sydnee scored 8 points in the quarter and Savanna pulled down several rebounds as the Bruins went on a 12-0 run and led after the first 19-10.
Fellow Bruin senior Chloe Wicker made her presence known in the 2nd quarter, hitting 3 of her 5 three-pointers, some from well beyond NBA range. The Bruin lead grew in the second half as they outscored the Jets 20-5 in the third quarter, bridging the third and fourth quarters on a 15-0 run. Blackford led by as many as 33, as the Jets struggled defensively with the size and ball movement of the Bruins, who were able to exploit openings in the zone most of the night.

The senior-laden Bruins showed their dominance, with the 8 seniors combining to score 62 of the team’s 65 points and four in double figures, led by Sydnee Morris’ 18 and Chloe wicker with 17, while Savanna Morris pulled down a game high 15 rebounds. Adams Central was led by Alexa Brotherton with 10, as they fall to 0-4 on the season, and will be back in action on Saturday at Northfield, followed by the intra-country matchup at Bellmont on Tuesday, which you can hear on WZBD.
