Adams Central Flying Jets (0-1) at Bishop Luers Knights (1-0) – Tuesday, November 7th
The Adams Central Jets face another tough road test when they play in the Bishop Luers gym Tuesday night. Coach Kyle Roe’s young team is still trying to figure out its way on offense, but the defense and intensity is there. Coach admitted after Saturday’s game that the team may not be where he wants them to be when it comes to conditioning yet. They’ll need to be ready at Luers as the Knights knocked out AC last season in the sectional by a wide margin.
Series History
As we mentioned, Luers eliminated Adams Central 68-33 at last year’s sectional. They put up 90 on the Jets in the regular season game. The Jets have had no luck in recent memory against Luers.
Players to Watch
For Luers: Addie Shank and Maggie Parent will pose major problems for the Adams Central defensive scheme. Shank has a good shooting touch and is versatile with the ball, while Parent scored 15 in the team’s opening win over Central Noble.
For AC: Athena Schwartz can use her defensive skills to put pressure on the Luers’ guards and deny the ball down low. The Jets will need to create turnover and score some buckets in transition if they are going to remain competitive in this one.
