DECATUR–Bunge North America in Decatur will test their audible emergency alert systems on Friday, November 10, 2023 starting at 10:30 AM. These routine tests are done to ensure the readiness of these systems in the unlikely event that an emergency event would occur within the facility’s soybean processing areas.
The routine testing includes all locations and devices to initiate the alarms within the plant. Because of this, the alarms will start and stop multiple times for up to 90 minutes, beginning at 10:30 AM, Friday November 10. These audible systems are high volume, similar to a tornado siren to ensure that all areas of the plant, some with high equipment noise, can hear the alerts.
In the event this date has any severe weather watches or warnings in effect for the area, these planned tests will be canceled and rescheduled for another date to avoid any confusion with these audible alerts.
