The Bluffton Tigers made Adams Central play all 48 minutes Friday night, something the state’s #2 team in 1A had not done all season long, but at the end of the night, it was a dominating defensive performance for the Jets, who shut out a team that was ranked #1 in 2A in Indiana just last week.

The 24-0 final score might not truly tell the story of the game as it was still just 7-0 midway through the third quarter, but in some ways, it was. The Jets’ offense only outgained Bluffton’s by just 27 yards and both teams ironically ran the exact same number of plays, but it was a trio of interceptions by the AC defense that made all the difference.

Jack Hamilton had one of those interceptions, giving himself the ball on offense, where he picked up 48 yards rushing and scored a touchdown that put the game away for good. Hamilton was just 1 of 2 for 19 yards passing as the Jets had little interest in throwing the ball in the rain and cold weather.

Drew Kaehr and Cam Smith had the other INTs.

Keegan Bluhm scored early for the Jets from six yards out and the visitors carried that lead into halftime. Bluhm led all rushers with exactly 100 yards and two touchdowns.

The Jets gave themselves some breathing room in the third quarter when Trevor Currie kicked a 24-yard field goal.

The Jets got a big night in tackles from Max Kaehr, who finished with a team-high nine. Cam Fravel and Matt Heiser each had seven for Adams Central, who will host Woodlan in Week 9.

The Adams Central defense did not allow a play of 15 yards or over the entire night.
