Owners of Andy’s Coney shop announced Saturday that they will be moving out of their location on Madison Street Plaza and incorporating their coney dog business into the Old 27 Ice Cream Shop.
The new location will open on October 23rd on the 2nd Street location.

The popular ice cream shop has been a seasonal business for several years and has become a part of the fabric of downtown Decatur. It is now set to be open year-round, according to the statement.
The owners of Andy’s said in a statement online:
With much thought and some hard decisions, we have decided to close Andy’s and move our coney dog operation to the Old 27! We have loved serving coney dogs from the Madison Street Plaza, but it’s time to make the move to a location that we feel can better serve our community.
The location will be able to operate with the drive-thru open for food off Jefferson Street.

Announced hours for the new location will be 4-8 p.m. from Monday through Friday. The location will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the weekends.
