Knowing they will face plenty of matches like Monday night’s five-set win against the Snider Panthers, the South Adams Starfires are feeling resilient heading into the final two matches of their regular season.
Playing at Snider, coach Ashley Buckingham’s team fell behind early by two sets, but stormed back to stun the Panthers in a thrilling final set.
Macy Pries’s final kill in that fifth set put her at 988 for her career and she will have a crack at 1000 Tuesday night at home against Union City.
Pries led the team in kills and in digs (20), while Shea Alberson tallied 18 digs and five service aces in the marathon match.
Reagan Bollenbacher had 14 kills and 8 digs in the 22-25, 21-25, 25-20, 25-16, 15-10 victory for South Adams.
The Starfires are now 24-4 on the year.
