East Noble put four girls in the Top Ten at Saturday’s NE8 XC Meet and took the team title, beating out Huntington North for the trophy.
Norwell finished fifth as a team and the Bellmont Braves were sixth in a race that featured the conference’s best 54 runners.
The Braves finished in four consecutive spots with their top four runners taking 33rd through 36th, led by Abigail Rudy. Bre Feasel and Madison Witte each ran season bests for coach Carl Risch’s team.
Risch also noted the effort of Lillian Garner as key in holding on to sixth place as a team.
“Lillian did a nice job of keeping a group of DeKalb and New Haven runners behind her to help us place ahead of those two schools.”
The Bellmont reserves finished in 4th place in the JV race. They got season-best times from Shaylin McCray, Chloe Garcia and Emma Fuelling.
With the new format and new location for the IHSAA Sectional, the Braves will head to Delta for the Delta Invite next week ahead of the IHSAA Sectional race at Delta the following Saturday.
