The Decatur Fire Department will host an Open House on Wednesday, October 4, from 5:30 pm-7:30 p.m.
Among the activities will be demonstrations on using the Jaws of Life, using fire hoses and other equipment, and how to safely employ fire extinguishers.
Visitors will be able get close-up looks at the fire trucks, water trucks and other equipment.
Firefighters will also be offering tips on fire prevention and safety.
Fire Prevention Week is scheduled for Oct. 8-14.
