While the other five golf regionals from around the state waited until Saturday to play their 18-hole rounds, the Homestead Spartans are already on to state, taking the top three scores in Friday’s tournament at Noble Hawk and beating Carroll by 23 strokes.
Scarlett Senk, the Spartan ace, finished -1 on both the front and the back for a two-under round of 68 and medalist honors, while teammate Cassidy Ayers was runner-up at even par. Eliza Saal shared third place with Northridge’s No. 1, Karissa Dyer.
Northridge beat out DeKalb for the last spot at the State Finals by three strokes.
Bellmont and Norwell both competed well, finishing ahead of the three Wabash county schools, with the Knights bettering the Braves by 17 strokes.
Bluffton’s Emma Schwartz finished with a 48-48 round of 96. The cutoff to reach the State Finals as an individual was Karilyn Teglia’s (Culver Academy) 75.
