A contentious and physical game on the quick turf of the Heritage High School stadium ended with a 1-0 victory for the home Patriots as they beat a solid NE8 opponent for the second straight game by the same score.
Norwell’s Noah Fromm took on a barrage of shots and made an incredible 16 saves, but it was the goal by Ar Zit Cahn towards the end of the first half that made the difference.

Cahn has now scored four times in the last ten days leading the team to three wins and a draw in that time.

The Knights nearly took the lead just 15 minutes into the contest when Kyler Morris attempted to smash in a rebound from short distance, but the ball was cleared off the line by a Heritage defender.

Heritage goalie Noah Henning needed to make just four saves to keep the 80-minute clean sheet, but two of them came on spectacular stops. He deflected a shot from outside the box off the foot of Norwell’s Noah Schamerloh in the middle of the first half. Schamerloh’s blast went far post and Henning laid out to reach the ball with his fingertips and keep the game at 0-0. (See photos below)

Norwell’s Cooper Sloan also tested Henning in the second half, but the Knights continued their offensive struggles, having scored just twice in the last five fixtures.

Twa Rit was credited with the assist for the home team.

The Patriots are now 6-4-2 on the season. They will end the regular season with a bang with matches Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week ahead of the sectional the following week.
