One of the highlights of Thursday night’s An Evening with Adams Health Network (AHN) Senior Living event on the Madison St. Plaza in Decatur came when a security officer took to the dance floor.
With the crowd cheering, veteran Berne police officer Wes Haight came onto the dancing area in front of the stage to join Linda Bixler.
Haight and a sheriff’s department officer were hired to provide security for the night, which featured The Bulldogs band.
Bixler, a regular at outdoor concerts, had in recent days observed her 74th birthday. When The Bulldogs announced it to the crowd, Haight was on his way to the dance area.
There was cheering as the two danced, and even more cheering and hollering when they were finished and Haight began walking away.
Some 100 residents of Adams Woodcrest and of Adams Heritage were on hand for the AHN’s third annual event.
