Featuring three of the top 3A teams in the northern half of the state, the Bellmont Braves knew that Saturday’s three-way at Angola would test the team and prepare them for a run at a third consecutive semi-state title in October.
With just one loss so far this season, which came at the hands of #1-ranked Hamilton Southeastern, the Braves had gained the #1 ranking with 17 wins so far in 2023.

Angola and NorthWood were the opponents Saturday and all three teams will be heavily favored to win sectional titles this year. The two teams could also be the two opponents the Braves would have to beat to reach Muncie again for the third consecutive season, with Angola in the same regional as Bellmont and NorthWood a potential Semi-State combatant.
