The undefeated Bellmont Braves beat their fourth opponent in 2023 from the Summit Athletic Conference and continued their dominance on weeknights with an easy victory over Snider Thursday, 25-8, 25-8, 25-12. Delaney Lawson led the team with 13 kills, much like she has done all season long.

Coach Craig Krull’s team has not lost a set in a week night match yet this season. In fact, the only two sets they’ve dropped both came in wins on the same day down at Yorktown, where the Braves won two matches at 2-1. The rest of the year has been sweeps.

The match served as the final warm-up prior to what could be the team’s toughest test of the season – a match Saturday against #3 in the nation Hamilton Southeastern.
“We have nothing to lose, so it’s kind of nice,” Bellmont senior Jackie Sutter told WZBD on Tuesday after the team’s win over Heritage. “We won’t be expected to win, so we can come out, play our game, and if we lose, we focus on Elkhart. If we win, even better.”
Sutter had ten kills against the Panthers on “Youth Night” at the Teepee Thursday and she added two aces.

Sami Christen also had another good service night, picking up three aces in the three sets when her turn in the rotation came. The libero also led the team with 15 digs.
It was another prolific night for Hailey Cole, who had her usual night in assists (29) but was also a team leader in digs with 14. She added two kills for good measure.
