The Kids Fun Zone will have plenty of activities for kids of all ages, including games, bounce house, inflatable obstacle courses, pony rides, water ball, and more! The cost for armbands are $15/day, or $20 for the entire weekend! Please note that the wristbands do NOT include the pony rides or the water ball.
There are plenty of contests as well during the weekend, to include a brat eating contest Saturday at 6pm, or after the parade. There is an entry fee of $50, with the winner receiving a cash prize of $1,000, while 2nd place gets $100 in gift certificates from Manley Meats. If you would like to take part, but having issues with the entry fee, contact the Berne Chamber, as there are some businesses and sponsors that may be able to help. Other returning contests include the Steintoss Contest Saturday at 2pm at the Berne Public Library. Men throw 60 pound stones for distance, women 30 pound stones, boys 12-17 throw 25 pound stones, and girls throw 15 pound stones. There is no entry fee, but top places do win prizes. Signup to take part will take place prior to the event on site. Don’t forget the different cornhole contests, baby crawl, and tractor pull contests as well as others.
WZBD has also created an interactive map of Swiss Days, showing many of the popular locations of events, along with the parade route.
Enjoy all the great activities throughout Berne, and “Hab ein tolles Wochenende in Bern!” (Have a great weekend in Berne!)
