The Adams County Community Foundation (ACCF) is pleased to announce that the City of Decatur was awarded a grant for creative Co-Op-events at The Hive. With this grant, the City of Decatur purchased tables for events open to the public, gallery exhibits, and private rentals.
The Creative Co-Op has a maximum capacity of 49 guests. If you are interested with rental, wish to check costs, availability, or have questions about reserving the HIVE, please contact Jamie Gephart at the Decatur City Hall: (260) 724-7171.
Jamie Gephart, City of Decatur Community Coordinator and grant writer, expressed appreciation to the ACCF on behalf of the City for this support for The Hive as it provided funding for tables.
Louise Ray, ACCF president and grants committee chair, said that providing support to the HIVE was an easy decision.
“The HIVE staff is serving our community well, and we are excited to see the summer youth programs so well received.”
This ACCF grant was made possible through unrestricted fund sponsored by the Victor B. & Kristine Porter Community Enrichment fund.
The Victor B. & Kristine Porter Community Enrichment Fund was established in 2002. The Porters wanted to give back to a community that had been so good to them and their family. Victor and Kristine (Striker) Porter were born in Adams County, graduated from Decatur High School and married in 1950. They were involved in businesses employing hundreds of local people along with raising their six children, supporting church endeavors and contributing to the success of local projects.
