The Adams County Commissioners were confronted by an angry Geneva resident Tuesday who was upset that he was ticketed recently for driving his golf cart on Highway 116 on the west side of the town. The resident said the only way he can drive his golf cart uptown is to take Highway 116, but state law says golf carts are illegal on state highways. WZBD’s Ed Thurman spoke with Adams County Sheriff Dan Mawhorr, who said it was all a matter of jurisdiction…
Sheriff Mawhorr says he plans to meet with Geneva town officials and will talk with officials from the Indiana Department of Transportation about the matter.
The County Commissioners also heard an update on the installation of the new elevator at the County Government Complex. Installation of the new elevator is progressing smoothly so far, and should be completed by June 9th. Until that time, however, there is no functional elevator in the building.
