UNIONDALE – Huntington North ended the South Adams tennis season Tuesday with a convincing win over the Starfires in the sectional quarterfinals. The Vikings, who are the favorites to win the sectional crown this year, dropped the No. 2 singles match to Ava Kinsey.
“We had the worst draw to get, drawing them,” noted head coach Cindy Greer, who noted that the team was caught off guard with having to play Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. after only learning of their opponent on Monday night’s bracket reveal on the IHSAA network. “The girls played with heart, though, and as a coach, you can’t ask for more.
The win for Huntington North pitted them against Norwell in Wednesday’s semifinal.
