Grace Guenthner had a monster night at the plate Monday, making quick work of Churubusco on the Patriots’ home diamond in a 10-5 victory.

Guenthner smashed two home runs in her first two plate appearances against the Eagles with a three-run shot to center in the first and a two-run bomb in the third inning.
Avi Washington also touched Busco’s Emma Walters for a home run, a solo shot to lead off the bottom of the fourth.

Danica Fuller allowed just three hits in 6.1 innings, striking out eight without allowing a run. She threw the first five innings, then gave way to Lucy Buuck in the sixth, but had to reenter the game to get the final out of the sixth inning after five runs had scored and two runners were on. Washington made a key play, fielding a ground ball hit to her at third cleanly to get out of trouble.
Fuller was 2 for 3 at the plate, while Abriyah James was 2 for 4 with two stolen bases ahead of Guenthner in the lineup, scoring twice.

Washington had three hits and two RBI.
The team plays a massive game at Woodlan Tuesday with ACAC implications before hosting DeKalb Wednesday.
