Adams Central clinched the ACAC tennis title with a win over Jay County with No. 1 Hillary Tobias sweeping a third-set tiebreak to secure the trophy for the Jets.
“It’s very exciting for our team,” said head coach Jessica Disinger, whose focus will now turn to winning a sectional title as the season reaches its final weeks.
Tobias won her first set in a tiebreaker, then could not hold serve in the second against Brenna Haines and the two top singles players went to the decisive third.
Adams Central scored two early points with wins at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles.
“I am very proud of how hard Hillary worked for that last set and that tiebreaker.”
The Jets are set to travel to Homestead Monday and they will finish up the regular season against Blackhawk Thursday.
