The Adams County Commissioners have given their blessing to funding requests for the county’s Community Corrections program for next year. Community Corrections officials have submitted requests to the state for five grants totaling nearly $750,000 for 2024. Among those requests is a first time request for funds to create a mental health court, which law enforcement officials say could offset the cost of arrests in Adams County.
Gilbert says he and other local corrections officers are now anxiously awaiting word from the state on the funding for the programs.
