In stark contrast to the big victory by DeKalb in the boys meet Tuesday, the Barons and Braves finished even with 66 points apiece on the girls side. A loss by .1 in the 4×100 relay kept Bellmont from victory.
Meet Notes:
-Haleigh Wesley won the 100 and teammates Khia Cannon and Adi Knipstein each ran season bests to finish second and fourth, respectively.
-Cannon continued her strong performance with a second-place finish to Wesley in the 200. Her time of 28.6 was a career best.
-Keeley Carpenter finished third in the 800 with a new PR of 2:39.7.
-Abigail Rudy also ran a PR in the 800, finishing fourth in 2:47.7.
-DeKalb’s star runner, Lydia Bennett, won all three distance races by sizable margins.
-Emily Barton ran a career best in the 100 hurdles for third place in 18.9 seconds.
-Madison Witte won the 300 hurdles with a season-best time of 54.4.
-Ashlyn Walker lowered her best time of the year to 56.6 by finishing third in the 300 hurdles.
-Addie Kintz won the pole vault by equalling her career best of seven feet, while Isabelle Lengerich was second with her first height (6-00).
-Sierra Schmidt set a new career record in the shot put with her toss of over 32 feet to win the event. She also won the discus.
