Heritage and Adams Central traveled to Southern Wells for an ACAC track and field triple and the Patriots won the girls meet with 89 points, while Adams Central finished second with 49. Southern Wells scored 18 points in the meet.
Track & Field Notes:
-Kylee Frock made a big gain in her 100 time, finishing third in 13.59.Â
-Gabi Landis ran her best 800 of the year to win 2:35.2.Â
-Madison Gerber ran the mile for the first time this year and ran a 6:09, the second-fastest from any county runner this year. Only Bellmont senior Ellen Scott has gone faster (6:06).
-Abby Jauregui was fifth in the same race and she ran a 7:07, taking four seconds from her previous season best.
-Gerber backed up her time in the mile with another season best in the 3200, winning in 13:13.52. She was nearly two minutes faster than the second-place runner from Heritage.
-Madison Hamilton won the 300 hurdles with a season-best time of 53.4.Â
-The Jets’ 4×800 team won with a new team-best time of 11:15.
-Ashlyn Doster had a great performance in the high jump, winning with a new PR of 4-10.
-Brooke Fruechte also set her season best with an effort of 4-08.Â
-Hailey Heller continued to make big gains in the discus, this time breaking the 80 mark for the first time, finishing fourth behind three outstanding Heritage throwers with a distance of 81-05.
