Adams Central and Bellmont both dealt with a canceled Saturday meet at Oak Hill by scheduling each other on short notice and the Braves came away with a convincing victory.
Meet Notes:
-Bellmont senior Haleigh Wesley won both sprints and the long jump.Â
-Adi Knipstein took third in the 200 for Bellmont with a season-best time.
-AC’s Amerie Walda lowered her season best substantially to finish fourth behind Knipstein.
-After setting a PR Tuesday against Huntington North, Ellen Scott cruised to victory in the mile for Bellmont and she was followed by her teammate, Abigail Rudy, who set a PR herself in 6:42.50.
-Abby Jauregui of Adams Central trimmed 19 seconds from her previous best in the 1600 for fourth place.
-Ashlyn Doster (AC) went 4-06 for the first time in the high jump to beat Chloe Post, who also went the same height for Bellmont.
-Faith Zuercher may have finished second in the long jump behind Wesley, but the AC jumper added an incredible 27 inches to her season best.
-AC freshman Hailey Heller set a new PR in the discus with a distance of 75-03, good enough for second behind Sierra Schmidt and Addie Kintz of Bellmont.
