It was a very competitive tennis match between Adams Central and Leo Wednesday night as the two teams battled to three sets in three of the five varsity contests. The Lions won 3-2, but Adams Central was right there, dropping the match at No. 1 singles 6-4, 6-4, and losing the No. 1 doubles match despite winning the opening set 6-2.
“The varsity team had some big shoes to fill,” said head coach Jessica Disinger, “losing 4 players from last year. However, coming into the first match tonight the girls had all the feels of nerves and excitement, especially when it’s the first varsity match for some. They played well.”
The Jets are back in action Thursday on the road against a very good Huntington North team.
